Why we love Dry-Hire Weddings at Foil
As the ultimate in do-it-how-you-want wedding planning, dry-hire venues are hugely popular amongst couples who have a real vision they want to bring to life. From catering and bars, to styling and layout, hosting your wedding at a dry-hire venue will give you complete freedom. However, as these spaces often provided minimal facilities and services, wedding coordination and planning is a real essential to make sure every element is as it should be - which is where we come in and what we love to do.
Do you have your own dry-hire wedding in the works?
Briony + Jamie's Dry-Hire Wedding style:
Contemporary + unique
Briony & Jamie’s wedding was a modern, design-led celebration set amongst the stunning surroundings of architectural plants. After J&B were wed by the lake, guests enjoyed cocktail hour and arancini canapés served from a stylish van, before heading into one of the venue’s giant polytunnels for dinner and dancing.
The reception donned a macaron tower and a standout floral disco ball installation, giving a bold, stylish party atmosphere. Every detail was planned to perfection with support from Foil – a must-have for a unique dry-hire setup.

Becki + Rob's Dry Hire Wedding Style:
Stricking + Stylish
Rebecca and Rob's New Year's Eve wedding at Trinity Buoy Wharf was a masterclass in elevated, personal design. They held their ceremony beneath peachy-pink flower clouds, before enjoying their drinks reception and dinner surrounded by towering ferns and moody lighting, before heading into their evening jazz-club inspired reception.
Every element of their celebration was carefully formulated over their 12 months working with Foil as part of our full planning service, from the flower-draped mirror bar in their evening party space, to their 10-piece live band, the personalised limoncello favours to bespoke cocktail menu and more.

Joe + Laura's Dry-Hire Wedding style:
Extroverted + Colourful
Joe & Laura’s wedding was a fun-filled, disco-inspired celebration set amongst the indsutrial railway arches of AMP studios. After Joe & Laura were wed at the Gothic Asylum chapel, guests enjoyed canapés and fizz, before heading to Amp for dinner and dancing. Laura & Joe finished their night in Morley's chicken shop next door for a late-night snack and some essential portraits!
As AMP's recommended coordinator, we're always thrilled to bring to life a couple's wedding vision under these iconic arches.

Rose + James' Dry-Hire Wedding style:
Chic +Industrial
Rose and James called on Foil to help transform a never-before-used workspace and car park in Shoreditch into a glamorous and unique wedding venue. They tied the knot with a celebrant led ceremony in the courtyard before enjoying cocktails and canapés in the interior, whilst the outside was transformed into an informal dining space complete with a wood-fired pizza van.

Laura + Peters ' Dry-Hire Wedding style:
Romantic +Poetic
Laura and Peter held their ceremony and reception between The Asylum Chapel and AMP Studios, showcasing just how versatile these spaces can be for a personalised celebration. Their beautiful floral ceremony backdrop was repurposed across their reception space to add plenty of colour and character, with their tables transformed by ombré pastel bud vases. They included personal nods to family across the day and wanted a celebration that felt understated, warm and elegant.
Foil provided a specialist planning session to give L + P some clear direction for their planning, before stepping in for the final month to coordinate.

Alice + Callum's Dry-Hire Wedding style:
Playful + Stylish
Alice & Callum tied the knot in the grand surroundings of Dulwich College, before celebrating with a laid-back, joy-filled reception at AMP studios, Peckham. Pastel florals by Sage Flowers brought soft colour and character to the day, while a lively mariachi band added an unexpected twist that guests loved.
The celebrations continued with a feast by Camberwell Arms… Shared plates, good wine, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere at the heart of it all.

Our favourite Dry-Hire Wedding locations
A dry-hire wedding venue is where an on the day coordinator really comes into their own. We've delivered weddings at some of the UK's biggest and best dry-hire venues and have honed our skills over the years to mean nothing gets overlooked. The amazing thing about a dry-hire wedding venue is the complete flexibility it gives to you as a couple whilst you plan (although, we know sometimes that can feel a little daunting!) and there's nothing quite like putting your own stamp on a blank space.
Rose and James did exactly that, using a private venue in Shoreditch that had never hosted a wedding before, whilst we helped them transform the space from ceremony, to dinner, to dancing with no disruption to their wedding day. We also know the importance of a solid logistical plan when it comes to a dry-hire wedding, which is why Flic and Nikolai were relieved to have us on board at Trinity Buoy Wharf, where we managed every element from the setup and running of their bar to the preparation of their catering team, right on through to the delivery and collection of their tables, chairs, flowers and more.
Ultimately, a dry-hire wedding venue can give you the most individuality for your wedding day and we love helping our couples bring that to life; leaving you to the partying whilst we tackle the planning.
